Sun Damage

Sun damage can easily be treated using a variety of non-surgical methods including products, peels and laser treatments. An innovative Visia digital skin assessment quickly pinpoints problem areas and determines the extent of damage. A minimally-invasive laser can then target and penetrate the uppermost layers of skin, to break down stubborn areas of pigmentation whilst stimulating the body’s natural collagen production.

Laser treatments for sun damage have minimal downtime, making them popular among those with busy lifestyles. Long lasting results can be achieved by following a recommended skin care routine, which will typically include antioxidant protection and a broad spectrum sunscreen.

FAQ

Anyone with a fair to olive skin type with sun-damage and/or pigmentation is an applicable candidate for targeted laser and IPL treatments. Darker skin types with sun-damage can be safely treated with a combination of cosmeceutical products and chemical peels. If you have moderate to dark sun spots, fine lines and wrinkles, or uneven pigmentation due to sun exposure, laser resurfacing could be for you.

Non-ablative fractional lasers and IPL are a safe and effective way to treat sun damage and other skin flaws on the face, neck, and chest.

The length of your treatment may vary on a case by case basis depending on the size of treatment area and extent of sun damage. You can expect the procedure to last anywhere from 30 – 45 minutes.

You can expect a more youthful appearance in as little as several weeks. Results will continue to improve over the next several months.

Laser skin rejuvenation is an outpatient procedure requiring minimal downtime, mild erythema is to be expected and can last up to 48 hours, however, this can be easily disguised with the use of mineral make-up.

Multiple treatments may be necessary depending on the severity of your sun damage and your desired results, your aesthetician or nurse will discuss this in your consultation.
