Cosmetic concerns such as scars, stretch marks and acne scarring can be treated in a number of ways. Depending on the depth, age and severity of damaged scar tissue non-surgical or surgical intervention may be required.

Non-surgical methods include using fractional laser light and Dermapen to create controlled trauma to the skins tissue, which stimulates new collagen and elastin growth. Products such as Heal Gel are also recommended.

During your consultation a skin specialist will be able to create a bespoke treatment plan to help achieve a reduction in scar tissue. A course of treatments will be necessary for most scars and stretch marks.

Reduced visible scarring

If you have mild to moderate scarring from acne, surgery or stretch marks, and are in good health you may be a good candidate for Dermapen or laser treatments. More severe scarring may require surgical intervention.

Most areas of the body and face can be treated with fractional lasers and derma pen.

Treatments can last anywhere from 15 – 45 minutes depending on the size of the area and scars to be treated.

Results can vary depending on several factors such as the age of the scar and the condition of the surrounding skin but most patients will notice an improvement in their scars within 8 – 12 weeks.

Mild redness and swelling can be noticed for up to 24 hours post laser and Dermapen treatments.

For most clients we would recommend a course of treatments, however the precise number needed varies between patients and would be discussed in your consultation.
