Your Bridal Beauty & Groom Grooming Countdown

Your Bridal Beauty & Groom Grooming Countdown

Whether you’re saying ‘I do’ on a tropical getaway or planning a fairytale winter wedding, there’s a lot of prep that goes into the big day – and we’re not just talking about venue hunting. Grooming and beauty preparation is key if you want to look your best in those wedding photos, which is why many brides and grooms start booking in for aesthetic treatments up to one year before their special day.

But with so many treatments available to brides and grooms, how do you know what’s right for you? And when exactly are you meant to be booking in for the best results? To make it easy, we’ve created your wedding treatment timeline. Save the date(s)…

Wedding beauty prep: starting at least six months before

Slimming with CoolSculpting

Consider the wedding dress maths. The results of a fat-freezing treatment, such as CoolSculpting, are visible around 12 weeks after each session – and you may want to book in for a few. Meanwhile, your wedding dress fittings usually start around two months in advance of your big day, from which point you don’t want your body shape to change dramatically.

For this reason, we recommend starting CoolSculpting at least six months before your wedding day. This is true for brides and grooms who hope to look a little more svelte in their photos. The innovative treatment freezes and destroys fat cells on almost any part of your body, including the arms, legs and hips, as well as smaller areas, such as the neck or chin. Find out more by booking a consultation at Mallucci, where we can tailor your treatment plan to achieve your desired results.

De-fuzzing with laser hair removal

Whether you’re targeting facial hair or de-fuzzing the legs and bikini line, laser hair removal isn’t a quick, one-and-done treatment – you need to plan ahead. It can take between six and 10 sessions to blitz those stubborn follicles. We also recommend starting in the winter, as the treatment can’t be carried out when you have a tan. As such, we suggest booking in for laser hair removal if your wedding day is taking place next summer. That way, you’ll have enough time to achieve silky-smooth, hair-free skin ahead of the honeymoon. You might even have your course of treatments complete before the big hen weekend.

Wedding beauty prep: starting three months before

Toning with EMSculpt Neo

If you’ve been putting in the work at the gym, but you want to elevate your toning, EMSculpt Neo is the ultimate treatment to complement your fitness regimen. Designed to treat the stomach and buttock areas, it safely triggers high-powered muscle contractions that are equal to 24,000 sit-ups or 24,000 squats in just 30 minutes. Aim for four to six treatments ahead of your wedding, then – brides – pause beyond your final dress fitting to ensure the fit doesn’t change before the big day arrives.

Resurfacing with laser facials

If poreless, photo-ready skin is your biggest beauty goal ahead of your wedding day, try booking in for a laser resurfacing treatment. At Mallucci, we offer a range of laser treatments to target your biggest skin concerns, whether you’re dealing with dark spots and blemishes, fine lines and wrinkles, or texture and enlarged pores. From Sciton HALO® to Lutronic LaseMD, we’ll help you find the perfect laser for a real-life ‘retouched’ effect. Get started three months before the big day, and you (and your makeup artist) will be raving about the results.

Wedding beauty prep: starting two months before

Plumping with Profhilo

Known as ‘the injectable moisturiser’, Profhilo plumps complexions like no other treatment. But don’t mistake it for filler; it doesn’t alter the shape of your face, but simply refreshes your skin. Perfect for softening wrinkles and ironing out fine lines, it fuses hyaluronic acid with nourishing vitamins to promote collagen production and flood parched pores with hydration.

But, let’s talk about timings: optimal results happen when you book two Profhilo treatments four weeks apart, with the most noticeable effects seen four weeks after your second session. So, while you can get a glow by booking your first session one month before your wedding day, we’d recommend starting two months before, so you have time for the second treatment.

Enhancing with polynucleotides

Polynucleotides are grabbing headlines right now – and for good reason. With a line-up of A-list fans, the pore-plumping ‘tweakment’ boosts your natural skin function for smoother, tighter contours. At Mallucci, we use Ameela; an injectable that triggers fibroblasts to level up collagen production. And, as that collagen infuses your skin cells, it lends your complexion a fresh, youthful glow – think ‘just got back from a yoga retreat’.

Non-invasive and with minimal downtime, we recommend two sessions to make up your course of treatments. Each one should be spaced two weeks apart, so the collagen has time to rebuild and rejuvenate your skin. There are three types of Ameela polynucleotides treatments we offer: Ameela Eyes, Ameela Face and Ameela Rejuvenate. Book in for a Mallucci consultation, and we’ll help you find the perfect one for your individual needs.

Wedding beauty prep: One week before

Relaxing in the Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber

In that final week before the wedding, it’s normal to feel a little (or a lot) of stress. All those months of planning are in their last stages, and you’ve just got to hope that everything runs smoothly. Stress is no good for your skin, hair or body, so take any steps you can to wind down in those last few days. The Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber is your mini sanctuary, giving you a one-of-a-kind wellness experience. Now available at Mallucci, the Chamber invites you to lie back and relax while a highly concentrated dose of 100% oxygen – at a pressure 1.5 to 3 times higher than average – is pumped in. Breathe in, breathe out, and emerge from your session feeling brighter, renewed and more energised. You could even plan a few sessions ahead of your big day to be the calmest bride or groom your guests have seen.

Deep cleansing with a HydraFacial + Oxygen

Not only is the HydraFacial a mainstay for A-listers on the red carpet; it’s also become a must-book for brides and grooms who want HD-perfect skin. It centres around a clever device that sucks out impurities and pushes in vitamins, so your complexion appears calmer, clearer and smoother than ever before. For added hydration and glow, ask your Mallucci practitioner to add an Oxygen infusion, which sees a concentrated blast of pore-harmonising O2 delivered directly to pores.
We recommend booking in a HydraFacial monthly, but if your countdown is coming to a close, you can come in for a supercharged glow boost around five days before your wedding. Trust us when we say your makeup will go on like a dream after a single session.

Wedding beauty: up until the day before

Illuminating with Fire & Ice

On its own or as a HydraFacial add-on, the Fire & Ice facial imbues skin with an other-worldly glow. It treats blemishes, keeps dullness at bay, and rapidly shrinks enlarged pores. Best of all, there’s no downtime, so you can even book in on the morning you tie the knot. You’ll be walking down the aisle with your freshest complexion yet.

But, what about that name? ‘Fire’ refers to the first step of your facial, when a warming blend of sugar cane extract, retinol and niacinamide is applied to sweep dead skin cells away. It lends a pleasant and tingly sensation that lasts for just a few minutes, but offers some welcome relaxation as the wedding jitters start to set in.
Then, the ‘Ice’ step sees skin cooled and soothed with a hydrating cocktail of hyaluronic acid, aloe vera, green tea and rosemary extract. Once it’s removed, your complexion is bathed in serums and creams that complement your skin type – resulting in a lit-from-within finish that lasts.

De-puffing with Manual Lymphatic Drainage

To leave you feeling light, energised and ‘de-puffed’ on the wedding morning, head for a manual lymphatic drainage massage (MLD) the day before. This intensive, invigorating treatment sees your body massaged with firm pressure and skilful technique, supporting the drainage of bacteria, toxins and fluids from your body. It’s not a relaxing massage; it’s a results-driven session that tackles bloating, swelling and puffiness for a more sculpted silhouette. It’s also a great tension-reliever, so if you are feeling tightly wound, it may help to loosen you up before you walk down the aisle and say ‘I do’.

Soothing skin with Dermalux LED Light Therapy

Whether you’ve plumped skin with Profhilo, contoured with fillers, maintained a strict facial schedule – or tried a mix of all three – now you’re in the very final stages of complexion prep. At this point, you don’t want to do anything that could leave your skin red or irritated. What you need are soothing products and treatments that keep surprise breakouts or stressed-induced redness at bay.

So, complete your skin routine with Dermalux, the leading LED light therapy, which soothes everything from acne, to rosacea, to post-procedure swelling. Suitable for face and body, the medically-certified and pain-free treatment is like a holiday for your skin. Simply relax under the beam for up to 30 minutes, and enjoy the warmth of the light as it calms your complexion. Then, head to bed for a (hopefully) restful night. When you wake up in the morning, your skin will appear smooth, calm, bright and balanced.
