Your Bridal Beauty & Groom Grooming Countdown

Wedding season is making a comeback for summer ‘21. It seems that the days of cancelling or postponing nuptials may, at last, be coming to an end. For some couples, that might mean fast-tracking plans to waltz down the aisle pronto. For others, a play-it-safe 2023 wedding date could mean there’s time to delve into the finer details. Whatever the case, brides and grooms alike will want to factor wedding beauty and grooming into their plans. To make it easy, we’ve created your treatment timeline. Save these dates in your diary…

Wedding beauty: up until six months before

Slimming with CoolSculpting

Consider the wedding dress math. The results of a fat-freezing treatment, such as CoolSculpting, are visible around 12 weeks after each session – and you may want to book in for a few. Meanwhile, your wedding dress fittings usually start around two months before your big day, from which point you don’t want your body to shape to change dramatically.

For this reason, we recommend starting CoolSculpting at least six months before your wedding day. This is true for brides and grooms who hope to look a little more svelte in their photos. This innovative treatment freezes and destroys fat cells on almost any part of your body, including the arms, legs and hips, as well as smaller areas, such as the neck or chin. Find out more by booking a consultation at Mallucci London, where we can tailor your treatment plan to achieve your desired results.

De-Fuzzing with laser hair removal

Whether you’re targeting facial hair or de-fuzzing the legs and bikini line, laser hair removal isn’t a quick one-and-done treatment – you need to plan ahead. It can take between six and 10 sessions to blitz those stubborn follicles, and we recommend starting in the winter, as it can’t be carried out when you have a tan. As such, we suggest you can book in for laser hair removal if your wedding is taking place next summer. That way, you’ll have enough time to achieve silky-smooth, hair-free skin ahead of the honeymoon.

Wedding beauty: up until one month before

Plumping with Profhilo

Known as ‘the injectable moisturiser’, Profhilo plumps complexions like no other treatment. But don’t mistake it for filler; it doesn’t alter the shape of your face, but simply refreshes your skin. Perfect for softening wrinkles and ironing out fine lines, it fuses hyaluronic acid with nourishing vitamins to promote collagen production and flood parched pores with hydration.

But, let’s talk timings: optimal results happen when you book two Profhilo treatments four weeks apart, with the most noticeable effects seen four weeks after your second session. So, while you can get a glow by booking your first session one month before your wedding, we’d recommend starting two months before, so you have time for the second treatment.

Enhancing with facial fillers

Because the results of facial fillers can last up to 18 months, you could start much earlier than one month before the big day and still see a difference in your skin. This injectable is used to add volume to anywhere you want a plumper look, from lips to cheekbones. You can even add a sprinkling in tear ducts to reduce dark circles and delete tired eyes.

Just make sure you allow at least four weeks for the best results to appear. This leaves time for any entry points to close up, and for the filler to integrate into the tissue. Once it’s settled, even deeply wrinkled skin will appear smooth and taut, while enhanced cheekbones will be contoured and lifted, and plumped-up lips will appear naturally full.

Wedding beauty: up until three months before

Toning with EMSculpt

If you’ve been putting in the work at the gym, but you want to elevate your toning, EMSculpt is the ultimate treatment to complement your fitness regimen. Designed to treat the stomach and buttock areas, it safely triggers high-powered muscle contractions that are equal to 20,000 sit-ups or 20,000 squats in 30 minutes. Aim for four to six treatments ahead of your wedding, then – brides – pause beyond your dress fitting to ensure the fit doesn’t change before the day arrives.

Wedding beauty: up until the day before

Deep cleansing with a HydraFacial

Not only is the HydraFacial a mainstay for A-listers on the red carpet; it’s also become a must-book for brides and grooms who want HD-perfect skin. It centres around a clever device that sucks out impurities and pushes in vitamins, so your complexion appears calmer, clearer and smoother than ever before. We recommend booking in monthly, but if your countdown is coming to a close, you can come in for a supercharged glow boost just one day before your wedding. Trust us when we say your makeup will go on like a dream after a single session.

Illuminating with Fire & Ice

On its own or as a HydraFacial add-on, the Fire & Ice facial imbues skin with an other-worldly glow. It treats blemishes, keeps dullness at bay, and rapidly shrinks enlarged pores. Best of all, there’s no downtime, so you can even book in on the morning you tie the knot. You’ll be walking down the aisle with your freshest complexion yet.

But, what about that name? ‘Fire’ refers to the first step of your facial, when a warming blend of sugar cane extract, retinol and niacinamide is applied to sweep dead skin cells away. It lends a pleasant and tingly sensation that lasts for just a few minutes, but offers some welcome relaxation as the wedding jitters start to set in.

Then, the ‘Ice’ step sees skin cooled and soothed with a hydrating cocktail of hyaluronic acid, aloe vera, green tea and rosemary extract. Once it’s removed, your complexion is bathed in serums and creams that complement your skin type – resulting in a lit-from-within finish that lasts.
